Man on a Diet: Vincent Tells All - Part 6
It's been while since we last heard from Vin...but he's always
worth the wait! More Vin, More! Here's Vin:
THE END - PART 0NE "A STUDY OF KNEES AND OTHER LOW JOINTS"
FORWARD
Here I sit in my writer's room, so small even the mice are hunchbacks
and I look back over the months,days,hours...well a few minutes anyway
that it's taken me to throw together this list of disjointed meanderings
which will be known to millions as Part 6 of my weight loss journal!!
I've surprised myself that it's gone this far...as most people lose the
will to live after Part 3......also out of consideration, I'm only typing
it slowly for you slow readers.....
This Part is respectfully dedicated to the lovely Maureen across the
road - the only woman I know who, like wine, improves with age. I dedicate
it in the hope that as she gets older her voice will change - from "No"
to "Yes"
FEEDBACK
Gosh, there's been loads!! Many thanks to everybody who has emailed -
I try to reply to everyone individually. Recently however, my ISP has
had problems [someone unplugged the C64 Server] and some emails went to
the planet that the used biros go. So my apologies if you didn't get a
reply - please feel free to resend and those who do on the back of a large
amount bank note will get the fastest service :)
Most of you are doing marvellously... weight losses of one or two stone
are quite common...using the Vin *COMPLETLY FREE* Diet!! But more of this
later.
I received an Email from a Mounted Police Woman who was so overweight
that her friends at the station used to joke she was the only Mounted
Police Woman with a Shire Horse!!
She's lost 2.5 stone with my Motivation tips and is delighted. (I also
received a Thank-you email from her Horse)
Another Lady says she can now wear her transparent nightie without feeling
that she's modelling for scatter cushions!
DON'T BE SEDUCED
by fad food diets. Slowly does it the best recipe for weight loss! Eat
fewer calories and become more physically active and you *WILL* lose weight.....
Going out and buying expensive exercise videos will make wealthy celebrities
even wealthier (even if they are no use girls, your Husbands will enjoy
watching the celebs prancing about in skintight lycra!!)
Another friend had just bought a "STEP" - one that you step
off and on to lose weight around the thighs... Strange this.. she doesn't
live in a Bungalow.. maybe she doesn't have a staircase.... :)
Point being that it isn't necessary to spend *ANY* money at all to go
on a Diet.. in fact you can *SAVE* money by not buying expensive cakes
and chocolates.
Also save money by only eating *WHEN YOUR HUNGRY* Remember to try a glass
of water first - you may be only THIRSTY - not HUNGRY!
That money can go towards that first TREAT you promised yourself when
the first stone had gone!!
ALCOHOL
seems to be a real problem for most of you. CUT DOWN on your Alcohol
consumption as it high in calories and offers no nutrition!
REMEMBER - Alcohol a wonderful DEPRESSANT. If your depressed about your
weight.. large alcohol usage will make it worse!!
HABITS
Why suffer alone on your Diet??!! Young children are still growing and
shouldn't be on a restrictive diet...a better approach is to establish
healthier eating habits for the whole family and you will all reap the
benefits...and you won't feel so "out on a limb" when on your
Diet.
KNEES AND OTHER LOW JOINTS
Several of my older readers [myself included] have pointed out that aches
and pains in the knees and ankles have disappeared after losing weight.
This common sense really...those of us who were growing out of our Birthday
Suits were putting EXTRA strain on our body's "shock absorbers"
- which were built to carry a certain weight after all!
PERSISTENCE
"How can I learn PERSISTENCE?" is a regular question I get asked.
Usually after "How have you managed to lose 4 stone?"
Here's a secret..... *ANYONE CAN LEARN PERSISTANCE* I really mean ANYONE.
It's a state of mind and can be cultivated.. here's a few pointers as
mentioned in previous rantings!
1. DEFINITENESS OF PURPOSE. Knowing what *YOU* want to achieve.
2. DESIRE. Really wanting it.
3. SELF-RELIANCE. Belief in your own ability to achieve it...
re-read the AUTOSUGGESTION section.
4. DEFINITENESS OF PLANS. even weak and impractical plans will
encourage persistence.
5. WILLPOWER. Concentrating your thoughts will lead to persistence.
6. HABIT. Persistence the direct result of this.
Your mind absorbs the daily experiences on which it feeds. Get into the
HABIT of eating the right things and it becomes second nature without
any effort....
*AMAZE YOUR FRIENDS [AND YOURSELF!] WITH YOUR PERSISTENCE*
BACKWARD
NOBODY CAN THINK FOR YOU - NOBODY CAN ACT FOR YOU - NOBODY CAN SUCCEED
FOR YOU - *BUT YOURSELF* SO START ->*TODAY*<-
I did and look where it got me!!
