Bran Loaf

1 cup all bran
1 cup self raising wholemeal flour
semi skimmed milk and a beaten egg (to fill one cup)
1 cup chopped mixed dried friut
(eg dates,sultanas, cherries)
1 chopped apple
half a cup brown sugar
walnut halves
greased baking tin (9" by 4")

Put bran, milk and egg into a large bowl, and add other ingredients, except walnuts, leaving the flour until last. Stir well and pour into baking tin, place the walnuts on top and put into a peheated oven at gas mark 4 for 1 hour, or until a knife insertd in the centre comes out clean.
